Topic: Applying Neuroscience to Schizophrenia

Abstract: Schizophrenia is a complex disorder that likely spans dysfunctions across multiple circuits and neurotransmitter systems. As such, numerous biochemical changes in brain regions have been implicated, indicating neurotransmitter dysfunction in multiple systems. A good understanding of these pathways influences choice of medication and hence effective treatment of schizophrenia. Join an exhilarating talk by consultant psychiatrist Dr Sanil Rege, who weaves neurobiology, psychopharmacology and management strategies in schizophrenia whilst connecting concepts to real life clinical practice.
